ROZUM is a growth consulting practice for small businesses and agencies. We build the stuff that usually doesn't exist yet — positioning, new business infrastructure, pipeline, outreach — and set it up so you can run it yourself.
Before ROZUM, I spent over a decade in senior growth and biz dev roles — multicultural agencies, integrated comms firms, equity-first orgs, startups. I've built new business functions from scratch, run multi-million dollar pitch processes, landed government contracts, and led cultural competency work for Fortune 100 and 500 brands in healthcare, CPG, financial services, and retail. That experience, and the communities it put me in proximity to, is what I bring to every engagement.
Small businesses are personal to me — that's the economy I came from. I'm based in New York City, and ROZUM works with clients across the metro area, New England, and Vancouver, BC. The cultural intelligence piece isn't a service add-on; it's the lens everything else runs through. Understanding who your audience actually is — their context, their communities, what moves them — is where real positioning starts.
That instinct comes from my other work. I'm a researcher, writer, and documentary photographer — public history, food anthropology, visual storytelling. My research has been covered by the New York Times, and I approach consulting the same way I approach a story: you have to actually understand something before you can say anything useful about it. The same rigor that drives a four-year archival project drives how I audit a client's market position or build a prospect list.
The research and creative work isn't separate from the consulting — it's what makes the consulting different. Archival research, documentary photography, food anthropology: they all train the same muscle that finds the positioning angle nobody else sees.
